Wyoming Ranch For Sale, Rich in Beauty, Steeped In History

This beautiful Wyoming ranch holds approximately one mile on both sides of the famed North Platte River, just a couple miles out of the western town of Saratoga, Wyoming. A couple weeks ago, we had a few hours to fish this stretch of the river and we were pleased with the number of fish held in the seams of the river. Varying sizes of Browns and Rainbow trout were caught and we are looking forward to the fall fly fishing. Recently a couple trophy mule deer were taken on the Wyoming property adding to the recreational features of the Bird Cloud Ranch.

Brown Bear Hunting in Alaska Leads to Plane Crash

September arrived and that meant it was time for another trip to Alaska where I (Michael DeShore) guide brown bear hunts. This year I went to work a ten day hunt with an outfitter named Jamie Howell. Jamie has a neat cabin that his family built on Kitty Lake, which is about 50 miles west of Anchorage. Lying at the southern end of the Alaska Range, it is a beautiful setting and a spectacular place encompassing all that Alaska has to offer.

We had a good hunt and a quality bear was harvested on day six of the hunt. A second client harvested a moose on day nine - we loaded the moose into a canoe and got it back to the cabin the same day, where we began preparing everything for the flights out the following day.

Chip Lenihan and Coble Thurman of the Colorado Fay Ranches office set out on a fly fishing adventure on Coble's family ranch on the Wise River, CO. This stretch of the river is just a few miles from Fay property listing Elk Creek Ranch. A great day was had and they managed to catch a nice brown trout and provide some pictures to prove it. Afterwards, kicking back with a barley flavored beverage.

Montana Fly Fishing Invitational Raises Money for Local Charity

The 2011 Big Sky Fly Fishing Invitational once again was a tremendous success generating a day of angling for trophy trout with dry flies, lots of laughs and $5000 for Big Sky Youth Empowerment.  With multiple fish landed over 20” on beetles, parachute pmd patterns and hoppers, comments like, “One of the best days of fishing I’ve had in years,” could be heard over the cold beers that followed.  Thank you to the participants and our generous friends/clients who donated their ranches for the day.  We look forward to next year and in the mean time visit www.byep.org to see how you can help this worthy organization.

Most of the programs are agricultural based, but as varied as robotics and archery.

The 4-H guidelines require that the kids care for and train their animals. At the fair you won’t see professionals riding kids horses or parents scooping out stalls… the kids have to do it on their own.
