"My names Bret Snyder and I've been with Fay Ranches since mid 2009. What really attracted meto these guys is who they are. Not so much what they do and not so much the romantic side of brokering ranches or being out in the country". That's great to me and I love the mountains and I've always been attracted to that. What I saw when I first met the partners at Fay is that they all wanted to get back to brokering ranches and being with their clients and so forth which is what they excel and what they are good at. And they want to keep developing those relationships out on the ground. You know being at the ranches with the clients. So it was condusive for someone to come in and really help them run their business.
The story I usually tell is Greg woke up one day and he realized he wasn't selling ranches any more he was running a business. So we looked at when we first got here is how is this business built in the first place. It was really built on morals and ethics than it was on making money. What we did from there was we built 4 pillars of a platform. And those 4 pillars are: Your families, your clients, and how those work into your business, the conservation ethic, (Greg founded the business in the early 90's based on a conservation ethic in the first place.) ranch values. How that all works together with conservation. Was it a good investment? Is it a good legacy for your family. Is it a good place to have and then the sporting pursuits. These guys and their families, wives to a large extent are all great athletes. They are fantastic anglers, hunters and outdoorsmen. So we also said sporting and outdoors pursuits, the recreational factor,is something we want to look at too because it's what our clients are really after.
So we built those 4 pillars and on top of that we said hey what does the Fay Ranches brand look like that goes on top of those 4 pillars and is that brand condusive to these goals? So that's what we started doing back in late summer of last year and worked with the winter with that and came out with a long term plan and the idea behind it is you are going to broker a ranch whether you are working with a seller or a buyer based on who you are. Yeah their is a business ethic that is involved and that is great but if you wake up in the morning and you are a good person. You are conservation minded, you're accutely aware of sporting pursuits, you're into your family and so forth - that's never going to change. And if you don't have to change on any given day on any day at any given time, we've succeeded. Because you're going to come out and be that person and it will shine through every day. Your clients are going to get it, your friends and associates are going to get it, your peers and the people you work with are going to get it, without really trying. That's where we come from. We've come from. Who are your clients? Who are we? And how are those things work together and how are those interests served. That's kind of how I got here and a little bit about what Fay [Ranches] means to me."
