Rachel, a fifth-generation Montanan, was born and raised in agriculturally oriented, southwestern Montana. Her time was spent between rural Montana where she worked on the family ranch in Ruby each summer and the big ‘city’ of Missoula where she attended school and graduated from Big Sky High School.

She earned a B.S. in Horticulture and an option in Landscape Design from Montana State University - Bozeman. Serving as MT State 4th Vice-President, she was active in the FFA throughout her college career. Upon graduating and wanting to experience some new adventures, she moved east for a year and lived and worked in the New England area. Eventually missing her roots and after a month-long backpacking trip through Europe, she returned home to Montana.

In July 2006 Rachel married a fellow native Montanan, Reece, and has a son born March of 2008. Rachel spends her time juggling family and friends, outdoor activities, Reece's masonry business, and dreaming of adventures yet to come.
