Madison Spring Creek Ranch

SOLD!

Rey Spring Creek by nature is a classic small, riffle, run and pool spring creek that holds healthy populations of brown trout with some fish reaching sizes up to 18+ inches and the average fish around 12-14 inches.  With no public access, the creek is a fishery that is extremely exclusive.  Rey Creek is as classic', challenging spring creek fishery.

Locally known as a trophy brown trout fishery, Darlington Ditch, or Darlington Spring Creek, travels for another .47± mile through the property.  That portion through the Madison Spring Creek Ranch was completely reconstructed in 2006 with some additional channel adjustments and vegetation added in 2007.  Supplied in part by spring creek water and in part by irrigation water from the Madison River, flows range from 30cfs to 75cfs depending on the time of year.  As a result of the combination water sources, Darlington Ditch fishes much like a spring creek for most of the year with fish taking dries, nymphs and streamers as the conditions dictate.  Fish actively feed on adult caddis and PMD’s in early summer, with BWD’s and midge hatches in the spring and fall.  During mid summer, the dry fly activity is diminished, presumably due to the warm water temperatures resulting from the influence of Madison River irrigation water.  Fall may be your best opportunity for a trophy 20+ inch brown trout as the pre-spawn activity intensifies.

It would be difficult to find another property in southwest Montana of comparable size or price range that has more water amenities then Madison Spring Creek Ranch. Whether you are an avid angler, sportsman or outdoor lover you will appreciate the fantastic diversity of water and wetland features on the property. The location just 30-35 minutes from Bozeman, Montana makes the property ideal as a year round residence or sporting retreat.
