Reed Point, Montana - $2,000,000
As the name suggests, the Yellowstone River forms the north boundary of the Yellowstone River Homestead. This 200+/- acre ranch, located just outside of Reed Point, provides numerous water amenities in addition to the Yellowstone. Bridger Creek forms the western boundary as it flows into the Yellowstone and an undeveloped spring creek flows for 1+/- mile through the middle of the property. Because of the abundance of water located on the Yellowstone River Homestead, the wildlife and waterfowl numbers are incredible. It is not uncommon to flush a covey of upland birds while out deer hunting. The historic ranch complex situated under the mature cottonwoods is a perfect place to call home for the horse lover, the fisherman or the hunter.
Yellowstone River Homestead is situated on the banks between “Pelican” and “Bratten”, two of the Yellowstone Rivers fishing access sites. This section of the Yellowstone is not fished as heavily as parts of the river closer to Livingston and Paradise Valley. Most easily accessed by boat, this section of the river offers several confluences which create large ‘holes’ where large Brown and Rainbow Trout live.
The Yellowstone River bottom represents some of the most prime habitat for hunting all species in the entire state. In particular, on this property the whitetail hunting and waterfowling is outstanding. The willow choked creek and river bottoms provide quiet, safe cover for trophy whitetails and the agricultural component of the ranch provides all of the food for a significant deer herd. The ranch lends itself to excellent tree stand hunting for archery and rifle, as well. Stands placed strategically allowing you to intercept deer coming and going between cover and food sources, would make for many exciting days of hunting.
