Dr. Brown's Ph.D. is in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oregon. He also holds a M.S. in Vocational Rehabilitation from the same school. His work has given him broad experience in management, business education, and real estate investment, and includes the founding of several businesses. Licensed in real estate for 38 years, he has been the broker of Charles C. Brown Realty for the past 31 years, owned with his wife and former broker, Sally. In addition to a business consulting firm he operated with a partner, Brown's previous experience includes: teaching at the University of Oregon's Graduate School of Education; preparing and administering real estate licensing examinations and editing technical publications as Education Director of Oregon's Real Estate Division; administering Region 10 VISTA, a four-state area federal program; designing and presenting professional education courses; and consulting for both private industry and government. He brings, to this company, particular strengths in problem solving.
Dr. Brown is currently a member of the National and State Associations of Realtors, and actively involved in the Central Oregon Board of Realtors. He has also been active in various irrigation and water related programs for the past 40 years, serving both on various boards and in administrative positions. Having grown up in part on a large eastern Oregon cattle ranch, with approximately 600 acres of flood irrigated crops, he has substantial understanding of the importance of water and conservation to the Northwest region.
Sally and Charlie enjoy travel and boating. Sally is a Contributing Editor to PassageMaker, an international trawler and ocean motorboat magazine. Charlie also likes skiing, fishing, and shooting. Long time Bend residents, they have two adult children with families, a daughter in resort management and a son in the field of law enforcement.
