Stone Mountain is an undeveloped, upland hardwoods timberland tract on the western slope of the mountain ridge running along the border of Tennessee & North Carolina in Johnson County, TN and very close to the Cherokee National Forest. Vantage points & possible cabin-sites throughout offer amazing scenic views towards Mountain City while overlooking the pastoral Roan Creek Valley. This tract provides a mountain “getawayer” all the beauty, privacy, and seclusion one might expect in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The whitetail deer & wild turkey hunting on Stone Mountain is very good considering the abundant wildlife. Ruffed grouse hunting is also good due to the unintentional successional forestation as a result of timbering in past years. Stone Mountain is also in close proximity to Redtail Mountain Golf Course & Resort, Watauga Lake, and South Holston & Watauga Rivers providing a plethora of outdoor activities such as golf, tennis, hiking, horse-back riding, sporting clays, boating, lake fishing, & fly-fishing for trout.
