Fay Ranches Closes Deal on Complex Wyoming River Bend Ranch Sale

Denver, CO – Fay Ranches recently closed an intricate ranch sale totaling nearly 7,000 acres at the River Bend Ranch, formerly owned by The University of Wyoming. Reb and Molly Clark purchased the ranch, and proceeds from the sale will go directly to the University of Wyoming’s School of Agriculture for research in animal health. The Ranch was listed at $8.5 million.

Wyoming land expert and Fay Ranches’ broker Mike Jorgenson led the way on this complicated sale for the University. Mike is a Wyoming native who brokered one of Wyoming’s largest land sales ever on the 77,630-acre Medicine Bow River Ranch last year, but the Riverbend Ranch challenged the entire team’s strengths due to existing conservation easements with Wyoming Game and Fish. Fortunately, Mike understood the various hurdles involved and worked as a team with co-listing agent Greg Fay and the buyers and their broker, James Rinehart of Western United Realty, LLC, through the processes and hurdles.

The Ranch is located just west of Laramie and consists of 6,700 deeded acres, much of it under a conservation easement. It includes World-Class trout fishing stretching over 6 miles on both sides of the Laramie River, superb waterfowl hunting in the fall, and great hunting for whitetail, mule deer, moose, antelope, and the occasional Rocky Mountain elk. It truly is a sportsman’s and conservation paradise.
