Fay Ranches Represents Buyer of the 2013 Land Report Ranchland Deal of the Year

Bozeman, Mont. (May 2014) – The sale of Camp Warren Oates, in which Fay Ranches represented the Buyer, and Tracy Raich represented the Seller, was named the 2013 Ranchland Deal of the Year by the Land Report. Owned for almost 30 years by actor Dennis Quaid, Camp Warren Oates is a group of 14 historic properties in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, only 13 miles from Yellowstone National Park.

A Fay Ranches agent represented the Buyer, whose interest in the property was piqued when he saw it in a magazine more than ten years ago. Fay Ranches came highly recommended to the Buyer through a mutual friend who had been represented by Fay in the past.

“The Buyer knew what he wanted to look at: properties with views, water, and within a good proximity to cultural centers,” said the Fay Ranches agent. “He’d heard about the Quaid Ranch and remembered seeing it in Architectural Digest. He was more than a little curious to take a look and see it firsthand. We ended up spending four or five hours walking the property and learning about its rich history. The next day we went right back.”

Only days later, the buyer made the first offer, and despite an 8,000-acre wildfire that threatened to destroy the ranch, he saw the deal through to completion.

The Fay agent who represented the Buyer said, “I had a terrific experience with the Buyer and his incredible and fascinating team. He is a visionary with exemplary qualities that kept him in the game through some interesting hurdles brought on by the fire. Broker and owner at Raich Montana Properties, LLC, Tracy Raich, who represented the Seller, was a pleasure to work with, and worked through the Emigrant Fire with me to get this closed.”
