RJ is a Idaho & Montana ranch sales agent for Fay Ranches. RJ is a 4th generation Montanan, born and raised in Whitefish. RJ attended the University of Montana on a rodeo scholarship and received a degree in Business Management. After graduating from U of M, RJ began selling real estate with a focus on land, he also worked as a hunting guide for a number of years.
Seven successful years into his real estate career he had an opportunity to work for the family business in the tool industry and apply his business skills to the growth of the company. After helping his family expand the business for several years, the family successfully sold the business to a new ownership group that decided to split the business into two separate companies and offered to sell one of the businesses back to RJ and his family. For the last 9 years, RJ has been the Chief Operating Officer at Petersen Brands, the manufacturer of the safest sledgehammer in the world, the Slide Sledge®. While the tool business has been great for RJ and his family, his passion for the land and the opportunity to return to real estate and sell land was too attractive to pass up.
Through rodeo, hunting, fishing and ranch work; RJ has had the opportunity to set foot on some of the most beautiful ranches in Montana and throughout the Northern Rockies. RJ’s business degree and acumen, his years of brokering land deals, guiding hunters, and his agricultural background, makes him uniquely qualified to identify the positives and negatives of both the working characteristics and recreational amenities of a ranch and to relay that knowledge to his clients. He also understands value. RJ and his wife and family live in Lewistown, MT.
Feel free to give RJ a call if you’d like to visit and learn more about the investment value of land.
