Lost Basin Ranch has ideal summer grazing in a location just off I-84 between Baker City, Oregon and Boise, Idaho. With 3,360± acres of deeded land along with BLM leases, the ranch will support 125 pair. The ranch is a mix of high-energy grasses, perfect for weight gain. A topography contains northern and southern slopes that include drainages of aspen and juniper pine with good water throughout the range. As for wildlife, it is prime mule deer and elk habitat along with good chukar hunting. Views are vast, with wide-open spaces and areas that are completely private and protected from the general public. Grazing runs from mid-May through October and takes in three big basins, with the main access coming from the east and access from the Burnt River Canyon Road to the west.

The ranch is fenced into multiple pastures, and water is abundant for cattle. In the last few years, the operators have been grazing over 400 cow/calf pairs from mid-May through October. Diverse terrain with higher elevations on the ranch creates a wonderful feed base for cattle and wildlife.

The property has wonderful grazing, which translates into ideal wildlife habitat. The 3,360± acres have elk, mule deer, and good numbers of chukars and many species of birds and small game. The property is located in hunting unit #51 Sumpter Zone. The Archery elk and deer season opens on August 30th and runs through the month of September, with rifle hunts starting in October.

Lost Basin Ranch is eligible for four land-owner tags for elk and deer. As of the last few years, the ranch has had minimum hunting pressure.
