Travis Bloomer

Broker, OR

Travis Bloomer is an Eastern Oregon ranch real estate broker specializing in working cattle ranches, farms, timberland, and recreational properties across Baker, Union, Wallowa, Grant, Harney, and Malheur counties. Raised on a third-generation cattle ranch in Baker County, Travis developed an early understanding of livestock operations, water resources, and the long-term stewardship required to sustain productive ranch land across generations. His family’s connection to the region traces back to ancestors who traveled west by wagon train in 1854 and settled in Baker Valley by 1870, establishing deep roots in the region’s agricultural heritage. Travis joined Fay Ranches because of the firm’s reputation for integrity, conservation-minded land representation, and a shared commitment to the people who live and work on the land. Drawing on his background in ranching, natural resource management, and ranch real estate since 2013, Travis helps buyers and sellers navigate complex rural property transactions while evaluating agricultural productivity, water resources, wildlife habitat, and long-term land value.

Travis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources from Oregon State University and began his professional career with the United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). During his time with NRCS, he served as a District Conservationist and Snake River Basin Rangeland Management Specialist, working directly with ranchers and landowners to improve rangeland productivity, irrigation systems, and wildlife habitat. He also led the Baker County USDA Snow Survey Team, conducting backcountry snowpack monitoring critical to watershed forecasting and irrigation planning. Throughout his conservation career, Travis worked extensively with landowners on grazing systems, irrigation improvements, wetland restoration, riparian planting, wildlife habitat enhancement, timber stand improvement, and long-term rangeland management planning. He administered federal conservation programs, including EQIP, CSP, GRP, and WRP, giving him firsthand knowledge of the stewardship considerations that influence rural land ownership and land value. Since becoming a licensed ranch real estate broker in 2013, Travis has combined this conservation and land management background with brokerage experience to help clients evaluate agricultural productivity, water rights, infrastructure, and long-term management potential.

Travis also brings extensive experience working with regional utilities, energy developers, and landowners on projects involving infrastructure corridors, renewable energy development, land-use evaluation, and conservation and mitigation strategies. His work has included evaluating ranch and timber properties for transmission infrastructure, identifying mitigation opportunities, and developing long-term land management plans tied to large-scale projects. In addition, Travis has participated in rezoning industrial mill property to residential development potential—marking the first such conversion within Baker City in 25 years. This experience provides him with a unique perspective on how infrastructure, regulatory considerations, and regional development can influence land value.

Deeply involved in the agricultural community, Travis served as President of the Baker County Cattlemen’s Association in 2023 and 2024, representing local ranching interests and strengthening relationships among producers throughout the region. As both a ranch operator and a landowner, he understands the operational realities and legacy considerations of rural property ownership. Travis lives in Eastern Oregon with his wife and family and enjoys the outdoor traditions that define the Western lifestyle. An avid whitewater rafter and archery hunter, he has also spent more than twelve years coaching youth and high school football in his community. Whether working with clients, coaching athletes, or spending time on the river or in the mountains, Travis values the same principles that guide his work in ranch real estate—integrity, preparation, stewardship, and respect for the land.
