Ren Martyn, ALC
Associate Broker, CO
Licensed in CO, WY
Ren Martyn grew up in Florida in the cattle, citrus, and real estate businesses, but the Rocky Mountain West was a natural fit considering his early affection for open lands and the western lifestyle. Licensed since 1995, Ren has been a trusted real estate advisor in Colorado and Wyoming and handles all business with a level of professionalism, integrity, commitment to service, and an old-fashioned hard work ethic.
Living in Steamboat Springs for over 25 years, Ren has developed a broad range of real estate, marketing, management, and water and land conservation practices. His capacity to assemble the details and a “can do” attitude have translated into hundreds of millions of dollars of sales brokering intricate ranch, conservation, and water transactions, including developing multi-unit subdivisions and high-end residential properties. Since 2012, Ren has held the Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation from the Realtor Land Institute. The ALC designation afforded to an elite group of 500 land specialists representing the nation’s most experienced and highest performing land experts. Due to the rigorous education requirements, ALC is the only land-specific designation backed by the National Association of Realtors. Overall, Ren’s attributes and experience bring a comprehensive understanding of real estate and business principles, providing the highest level of service to his clients.
In addition to talking the ranch talk, Ren walks the ranch walk. In 2001, Ren transformed his family’s hay & cow ranch, including senior water rights, into an Army Corps of Engineers and EPA-approved wetland mitigation bank. Adding to the existing ranch operations, the now restored and created wetlands offer wetland credits for purchase in the Colorado, Eagle, and Yampa River watersheds. For generational and long-term planning, a conservation easement was placed on the ranch in 2011 and held in perpetuity by The Nature Conservancy. These endeavors have provided Ren’s real estate brokerage practice with additional first-hand knowledge of ranching alternatives in today’s ag economy, land stewardship practices, water rights analysis, and conservation easement negotiations.
Ren was featured on a podcast for Realtors Land Institute (RLI) in July of 2023 for his savvy with Wetland Mitigation Banking.
Ren enjoys the western outdoor lifestyle with family and friends, including time in the woods, floating on the rivers, and Steamboat's winter wonderland. He is a private pilot and lives on a ranch south of Steamboat Springs with his wife, Heather, and three boys, Andrew, Ryan, and Lander.
