Building Community Through Conservation

Recently I (Coble Thurman) have been participating in various developmental meetings with Colorado organizers of Trout Unlimited. Last week we held our annual Gala Dinner & Fund Raiser, a huge success in funding our conservation efforts. There was a good discussion on a new generation of members based in Denver, CO known as the Greenbacks. These groups of 30-40 year olds seek to promote native Colorado fish and their habitat through the engagement and recruitment of the next generation of Trout Unlimited members.

Last month, despite a winter blizzard in town, their first fund raiser of the season was a huge success showcasing terrific, professional fly fishing photography at a local art gallery. Please join me in their second fundraiser of 2011 to benefit Colorado Trout Unlimited’s Native Trout Conservation work for the Denver Premiere of two Award winning Fly Fishing films. April 7, 2011 @ 7:00pm AT: the Oriental Theatre 4335 West 44th Avenue, Denver, CO http://greenbacksfilmfest.eventbrite.com/
